Saline filled and silicone gel filled implants are the two primary types of breast implants. Before undergoing a breast implantation surgery certain preparations and precautions should be taken. First, you need to talk to your surgeon about any health problems you may have had in the past, details of the treatment you have undergone and be sure that you don’t miss any details of your medical history. Also explain to your surgeon your present health conditions such as heart problems, asthma, diabetes, or any lung related problems. It’s important for you to be frank with your surgeon, your doctor should be aware of every minute detail of your health. For a woman who has a severe chronic disease or poor health they may not a good candidate for this type of procedure. Before the surgical procedure is performed, the woman must have a clear perceptive of how her new breast implants will affect her. On the day of your surgery you may feel uncomfortable as your chest may feel tight and sore. There is also a possibility that your back and arms will be sore as well. After the surgery your breasts may swell, become high and firm. After a month the swelling reduces, and can take nearly a year for the implant to return to a stable position. For quick and faster recovery it’s suggestible to keep ice packs on your chest on the day of your surgery. After the surgery for the first two weeks sleep only in upright position, avoid sleeping on the stomach. In order to avoid bleeding and swelling, for the first two weeks of the surgery, do not bend, exercise, strain, or do any such activities that can increase pressure on the chest. If you have smooth implants, in order to keep breast soft, massage it daily, keeping them in proper position. Do not massage the breasts during the first twenty-four hours or on the implanted texture. Before you make up you mind about a breast implant be sure about the precautionary steps to be taken before and after implants. |
