Generally, women seek breast enlargement or breast reconstruction for psychological needs more than other medical reasons or need, however there may come a time where she wishes to have a breast implant removal. When women change their mind, they must have a surgery to remove the implant. The surgery is not as intensive as the initial placement, but leaves the woman a little sore.

With breast implant surgery, the device is implanted behind the glandular or pectoral muscles through a small incision in the breast fold around the areola. In the Breast implant removal surgery, an incision is made either under the fold of the breast or around the areola. The capsule around the implant is cut open and the implant is carefully removed. In a case where the implant is filled with saline, the implant is first deflated which helps with the removal of the device. If the implant is filled with silicone gel, before removal the implant is checked for any kind of damage. The surgery takes about thirty minutes to one hour and will cost around $1000 to 4000, depending on your location. Some of the side effects of the surgery are the loss of nipple sensation, bleeding, infection, breast drooping and loose skin. Some may even undergo hormonal changes, weight loss and other psychological distress.

The discomforts of breast implant removal may initially be a bit painful, but soon things will be back to normal. Finally it is not the looks or appearance that matters, but the physical comfort which takes first place.
